The Flying Pig KIDZ Summer Culinary Camp adds additional week in Bonita Springs
How would you like your child to learn cooking skills from some of the finest chefs in Southwest Florida? The Flying Pig KIDZ Culinary Camp is the perfect introduction to the art of cooking for your child.
Chef Lisa Fidler along with other local popular chefs will take campers on a highly interactive culinary journey through a variety of exciting cooking classes. Instruction includes safe food handling, equipment safety, knife skills, table service and etiquette, and general cooking techniques. Campers will learn how to read a recipe and prepare and cook delicious, healthy dishes. Each camper will also receive a copy of the recipes they prepare at KIDZ Culinary Camp.
In addition to the sessions available at the Ft. Myers location, another week long session is being offered at The Robb & Stucky Culinary Center in Bonita Springs July 5-9, 2010. Camp classes are for children ages 8 through 14. Exceptions to age requirements will be made on an individual basis.
Classes begin promptly at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Class size is limited to 12 children. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. The cost of the camp is $350 and includes all instruction and supplies. Call 337-3744 for more information or registration forms are available online here.
The Flying Pig Culinary Team Chosen to Take Part in “Anthology” at Las Vegas Catersource Convention
The Flying Pig Culinary Team has been chosen to assist two time U.S. Chef’s Open Silver Medalist and 2008 International Cater Association Award winning caterer Cade Nagy and top event planner Domenic Chiaramonte in preparation and execution of the “Anthology” exhibit at the 2010 Catersource conference and tradeshow in Las Vegas. Mr. Nagy owns Catering by Design in Denver and Mr. Chiramonte owns Match Restaurant & Event Venue in Toronto. Catersource is one of the largest catering and event planning tradeshows in the United States. It attracts attendees from across the globe. “Anthology”, which takes place on Tuesday, March 9, showcases exciting presentation ideas, décor, and the most innovative ideas and latest catering trends to over 3000 caterers at this event.
The Flying Pig Culinary Team will attend the convention from March 6-12. The Flying Pig Culinary Team consists of owner Karen Hutto, Executive Chef Lisa Fidler and Sous Chef Lauren Peterson. The Flying Pig is a full-service caterer, serving southwest Florida since 1999. They offer a comprehensive palate of delicious foods for a wide variety of occasions.
