KIDZ Camp

Kids campkids campIs your child always asking to bake cookies or “help” in the kitchen? Do they enjoy creating their own edible snacks and treats?  How would you like your child to learn cooking skills from some of the finest chef’s in Southwest Florida?

The Flying Pig KIDZ Culinary Camp is perfect for your child.

Chef Lisa Fidler along with local chefs will take campers on a hands-on culinary journey through a variety of exciting cooking classes, including safe food handling, equipment safety, knife skills, table service and etiquette, and of course, general cooking techniques.  Campers will learn how to read a recipe, prepare and cook delicious and healthy dishes and will receive a copy of the recipes used for these dishes.

Teaching your child to cook is one of the best gifts you can give them.  A cook must be creative, understand math and science, and be constantly attentive to reading and writing.

kids campSix (6) one-week sessions are available for summer 2010. Camp classes are for children ages 8 through 14.  Exceptions to this will be made on an individual basis.

Classes begin promptly at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m.  Parents may drop off their children no earlier than 8:30 a.m. and can pick up between 3 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

Class size is limited to 12 children and registration is on a first come, first served basis.  The cost of the camp is $350 and includes all classes and supplies (Apron, Cap, notebook, hand-outs, petite chef knife, and graduation certificate.) Call us for the discounted rate if your child would like to attend more than one session. (Themes may be repeated on multiple weeks but recipes will change).

  • KIDZ Camp must be paid for in advance and are non-refundable.
  • We will provide a chef knife and apron but feel free to bring your own if you have them.
  • To comply with Health Department regulations and for your safety closed toe shoes are required during cooking classes. No sandals, flip-flops or high heels please.
